Key Accounts Manager – logistics




R20 000 – R30 000 depending on experience and qualifications


  • Grade 12, with relevant degree/diploma will be an advantage
  • Drivers Licence Code: B Light Motor Vehicle
  • Minimum 4 years sales experience in Transport / Logistics Services
  • Must have cross border experience
  • Proficiency in general MS Office Suite
  • Advanced understanding of Excel with some analytical skills
  • Strong Consultative selling Skills


  • The Purpose of the job is to provide customers with a main point of contact for the management, control and maintenance of key customers for retention, growth, operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Conformance Reporting
  • Implement and maintain management reporting tools to effectively measure client conformances
  • Implement client conformance reporting in Cross Border department
  • Measuring conformance reporting on weekly / monthly basis in a std. conformance report to be published internally and external
  • Maintaining and management of conformance levels, escalation to relevant parties
  • Presenting monthly conformance stats
  • 95 % service level to be achieved across all clients
  • Client Relationships / Client Liaison
  • Maintaining and developing Cross Border client relationships
  • Weekly meetings with clients – minutes & actions/ schedule
  • Update clients on Cross Border developments. Escalate where necessary anomalies, feedback to department
  • Monthly meeting with Cross Border manager at all clients
  • New Business / Growth
  • Ensure Cross Border department continuously maintain and grow client base
  • Extractions from current client base
  • New business, synchronizing with sales teams and KAM’s
  • Quoting all current and new clients: 24 – 48 hr turnaround time
  • Building and maintaining a freight rate data base for quoting
  • Monthly summary on new business developments / quotes
  • Value Adding Initiatives
  • Implement conformance reporting
  • Assisting department with value adding supply line initiatives / projects
  • Rate tables, quote templates, client requirements, etc.
  • Direct queries to relevant parties
  • Follow up and feedback to clients
  • Ensure prompt turnaround time and feedback back to clients
